Chess is a Learning Tool

Chess is a game of strategy that stimulates children’s minds and helps them to build numerous skills which will develop their social and academic performances, while enjoying themselves.

As a rule, children  that  play  chess immediately get significant improvement of their linguistic and mathematical abilities, which results in higher grades.

That’s why Chess is considered by many as a Learning Tool.

Playing chess develops:

·      Memory and Concentration levels;
·         Logical and analytical reasoning;
·         Creativity and Communication skills;
·         Planning ahead;
·         Problem solving ability;
·         Analysis and decision making capacity
·         Discipline and self-esteem

They also learn from their own mistakes and realize that hard work and commitment is the key to achieve their goals. Chess teaches them how to structure their reasoning or in other words teaches them how to think.
These skills and concepts will serve them throughout their entire lives.

Ex - world champion Garry Kasparov, has started a program with several companies and corporations all over Europe, addressed to their top executives to enhance their abilities in Strategic Decision Making.

Not only youngsters benefit with the practice of chess, older people do too. Recent studies have shown that chess prevents brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s.
Our brain is like a muscle that gets stronger when we use it and playing chess is a good exercise, it keeps our mind sharper.

We have asked some Chess Coaches and Masters involved in Chess teaching, to share with us their opinion about this subject. We will be posting their messages by the order we receive. You can find them under “Benefits of Chess” on the top menu bar.
Check them out!
